Membership & Mailing List
There is some confusion about the difference between becoming a McGL website member, and joining our mailing list.
Membership
Becoming a member allows you to post messages on the Guestbook and Results Exchange, and to use the Chatroom. We used to have an 'open' system, but were forced to change it to prevent unpleasant anonymous postings and protect our visitors.
To become a member, fill in a registration form and wait to receive your password by email. This may take a few days if we are busy -- longer if we are on holiday!
Mailing List
Joining the mailing list means that we will send you emails when we have information on feiseanna, major events, whatever. This can be useful when there are major competitions coming up and you need to know when the timetable has been published so that you can book those flights ...
To join the mailing list, enter your name and email address in the boxes at the top right of most pages. You will receive an email whenever we have some new information that may be of interest.
You can leave the list and rejoin whenever you want. There is an 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of each email we send you. Copy and paste the entire link into your web browser, and the rest is automatic. If you wish to, rejoin as you did in the first place.
If you change your email address, simply unsubscribe and rejoin with your new address. Simple!
Privacy
Most importantly, you need not sign up to either of the above to use the rest of the website, but if you do, we will NOT pass on your details to anybody else. We may email you from time to time -- for instance with details of changes to the membership or mailing list systems, but that is it. Full stop. End of story.
