Directions to Hylands School, Chelmsford
[2011 Only] PLEASE NOTE that, due to major works at the school, parking in 2011 will be via the SHERWOOD DRIVE ENTRANCE. Follow the instructions below carefully. Please note that if you use the postcode with satnav it will direct you to the wrong entrance!
If you are arriving by taxi, please ask the driver to take you to the Sherwood Drive entrance.
If you are driving, please note that parking in areas other than those designated for the feis could result in your car being clamped.
From the North
M1 (Junction 6a) South to M25. You will join the M25 at junction 21. Go East signposted Stanstead/Dartford Xing. Take junction 28 signposted A12 Chelmsford/Brentwood. Follow A12 for 9.5 miles passing exits for Brentwood, Shenfield, Mountnessing, Ingatestone and Margaretting. Take the A414 exit (Three Mile Hill) signposted Chelmsford/Harlow. (Formerly known as the A1016) From here follow instructions below.

A1 South to A14. A14 South to M11. M11 South to M25. You will join the M25 at junction 27. Go East signposted Dartford Xing. Take junction 28 signposted A12 Chelmsford/Brentwood. Follow A12 for 9.5 miles passing exits for Brentwood, Shenfield, Mountnessing, Ingatestone and Margaretting. Take the A414 exit (Three Mile Hill) signposted Chelmsford/Harlow (Formerly known as the A1016). From here follow instructions below.

Follow the A414 up the hill (golf course, country park and Hylands House on left). At the top of the hill (Masons Restaurant on left) go straight over 1st roundabout. At 2nd roundabout (MegaBowl on left) take 1st exit called Westway. Go through 1 set of traffic lights (Industrial Estate on left). At next set of lights (IPH Hire Centre to right) take left turning into Writtle Road. Take the first right into Savernake Road, then first left into Harewood Road, and finally, third left into Sherwood Drive. The school entrance will be directly ahead of you.
